Most recently, Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco appointed Dr. Mackie to the thirty-three member board, the Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA), the guiding agency to lead the state's rebuilding efforts following the catastrophic Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
